Privacy Policy
Effective August 20, 2026
Camp Sniff (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nature-based dog enrichment company based in North County San Diego, California. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you submit an inquiry, apply for or hold a membership, participate in Camp Sniff services, or otherwise interact with our website at campsniff.com and try.campsniff.com (the “Site”) and our Camp Sniff My Account portal at myaccount.campsniff.com (the “Portal”).
By providing your information through the Site or Portal, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Your Contact & Owner Information
During inquiry and onboarding, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, preferred adventure days, and any notes you choose to share about your interest in Camp Sniff.
Your Dog’s Information
We collect details about your dog, including name, breed, date of birth, energy level, group-care experience, and a photograph.
Vaccination & Veterinary Records
We collect vaccination records and your veterinary office’s contact information so we can confirm that required vaccinations are current. When you upload veterinary or vaccination documents, we may use AI-assisted tools to extract information from those documents. Before we rely on extracted data operationally, you have the opportunity to review and correct the results.
Service Addresses & Access Instructions
To coordinate pickup and drop-off, we collect service addresses and any access instructions you provide, such as gate codes, parking notes, or entry details.
Emergency Contacts
We collect emergency contact information so we can reach the right person quickly if a concern arises during your dog’s day.
Communication Preferences & Consent Records
We record your consent to receive email and SMS messages from us, along with the date and time of consent, the specific disclosure text and version you agreed to, and your IP address when collected.
Agreement Acceptance & Signature Records
When you accept agreements, authorizations, or policies, we record your acceptance and any signature or affirmation you provide, along with the date and time.
Authentication & Technical Information
When you sign in to the Portal, we collect authentication information and technical details such as device information, browser type, and IP address. We use browser local storage and session storage to keep you signed in, remember your progress in multi-step flows, and preserve your preferences. This information is stored on your device and is not shared with third parties.
Website Referral & First-Touch Information
When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect limited first-touch website and referral information to understand how prospective customers discover Camp Sniff and to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing and outreach. When available, this may include the referring website or domain (hostname only, not the full referrer URL), the initial landing page (pathname only, not its query string), and campaign or source information contained in UTM parameters — such as source, medium, campaign, content, and term — together with the timestamp of the first observed visit or acquisition touch.
This first-touch information is stored temporarily in first-party browser local storage on your device, is retained for up to 90 days, and is preserved rather than overwritten on later visits. If you submit an inquiry, we may associate this first-touch information with your inquiry. This information is designed not to include your name, email address, phone number, street address, your dog’s name, veterinary information, vaccination information, or free-text inquiry content.
Cookies & Website Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 on our public website to understand how visitors find and use the Site and to measure website performance and inquiry conversions. Google Analytics may automatically collect information such as:
- Pages you view and how you interact with the Site;
- Session and engagement information, such as time on site and visit duration;
- Referring source and campaign information;
- Browser and device information, such as browser type and device category;
- Approximate geographic information derived from your IP address; and
- A pseudonymous browser or client identifier used to distinguish browsers and measure visits over time.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies or similar technologies on your browser to collect this measurement information. We use the information collected through Google Analytics for website measurement, reporting, and understanding the effectiveness of our website and marketing efforts.
When you submit an inquiry through campsniff.com, Camp Sniff may capture and store the pseudonymous Google Analytics client identifier associated with your browser as part of your inquiry record. We may later use that stored identifier to report lead-funnel progression events to Google Analytics, such as when an inquiry advances through our admissions process. This allows us to measure how website inquiries progress after submission without intentionally sending your name, email address, phone number, dog information, service address, or the contents of your inquiry to Google Analytics.
This Google Analytics measurement is separate from the first-party first-touch referral information described above, which is stored in your browser’s local storage and is not part of Google Analytics. We do not intentionally send your name, email address, phone number, dog information, vaccination or veterinary records, service address, or the contents of inquiry forms to Google Analytics.
Third-Party Services & Service Providers
We rely on trusted third-party services to operate. Each provider handles information according to its own terms and privacy practices. These include:
- Google Fonts: Used to display fonts on our Site; may set cookies and receive your IP address.

- Google sign-in: Used to authenticate Portal accounts when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Google Address Validation: Used to verify service-area addresses and pickup/drop-off locations.

- Resend: Used to deliver email.

- Service providers: We use the third-party services listed above to host our website and Portal, store files, deliver messages, validate addresses, and process payments. These providers process information on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our customers, our team, or others.
AI-Assisted Extraction & Review
When you upload veterinary or vaccination records, we may use AI-assisted tools to extract information such as vaccine names and dates. Extracted results are presented for your review and correction before we rely on them operationally. Uploaded documents and extracted data are handled under the same security and retention practices described in this policy.
SMS & Email Communications
With your consent, we may send SMS messages about your inquiry and Camp Sniff services, including reminders, scheduling, and pickup updates. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message.
You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us. Transactional messages — such as scheduling confirmations, pickup notifications, and invoices — are necessary to provide our services and may be sent even if you opt out of marketing email.
Data Retention
We retain inquiry, membership, agreement, and payment information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, insurance, transaction-record, and operational retention requirements. When you request deletion, we remove your information where practical, except where we are required to retain it.
First-touch website and referral information stored in your browser’s local storage is retained for up to 90 days. If you submit an inquiry, the first-touch information associated with that inquiry is retained as part of your inquiry record under the retention practices described above.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information using secure storage, access controls, and encrypted transmission where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information consistent with applicable law.
Your Privacy Rights
California law may provide certain privacy rights depending on the circumstances and applicability of particular laws. Regardless of whether a specific privacy statute applies, Camp Sniff accepts reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete personal information, subject to legal, safety, insurance, transaction-record, and operational retention requirements.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@campsniff.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
